There was a time when I woke up every day already feeling tired…
Not because I didn’t sleep, but because I never really felt rested. Even small things felt like too much, and by the end of the day, I had no energy left—not even for myself.
I used to wonder… why am I always feeling tired?
Is this normal? Or is something wrong with me?
But over time, I realized it wasn’t just one big reason. It was a mix of small habits, small patterns—things I didn’t even notice at first.
And when I slowly started changing just a few of them… things began to feel different. Not perfect. But lighter.
💭 I Thought I Was Just Lazy… But It Was More Than That
For a long time, I blamed myself.
I thought maybe I’m just not active enough. Maybe I’m not managing things properly.
But even on days when I tried harder, I still felt drained. That’s when it hit me—this wasn’t laziness. My body and mind were simply exhausted.
🧠 Why I Was Always Feeling Tired
It wasn’t one reason. It was a combination of small things happening every day. You won’t notice in a day but as the days pass the pattern starts to set and the invisible pattern of things loads up to huge things and starts to drain your energy here are the few things I observed.
📱 My Mind Was Never Really Resting
Even when I sat down to relax, my thoughts didn’t stop.
What to cook tomorrow… things I forgot… things I need to do… Will my son go to daycare tomorrow or will start tantrums…
My body was still, but my mind was always running.
🌙 Late Night Phone Scrolling
I thought scrolling at night helped me relax a bit but constant checking of the messages, notifications, videos etc.
But in reality, it made my sleep worse. I slept late, and even after sleeping, I didn’t feel fresh.
🧺 The Invisible Mental Load
There are so many things we carry in our mind every day—planning, remembering, managing and with the kids it’s always wondering whether they ate, How much was their screen time today. Are they active or dull like these small tiny thoughts adds up to huge mental load as though It doesn’t look like work, but it quietly drains our energy.
😴 Rest That Didn’t Feel Like Rest
Even after sleeping, I didn’t feel recharged. Mornings were dull, feeling lethargic to do the work I used to easily because mentally, I was still tired.
🌿 Small Habits That Made a Difference
I didn’t change everything overnight. I just started with a few simple things. As I read in books starting slow will set the habit to be a daily routine rather than a task to be done.
✔️ I Stopped Trying to Do Everything
Some things can wait. And honestly, not everything needs to be done in one day. Start replacing the thought of doing immediately, Give priority and if the unnecessary thought comes say “I am working on myself, I am becoming a better person, I ignore the thought that don’t serve me anything“.
🕯️ A Simple Night Reset
Just 5–10 minutes of putting things back in place made my mind feel calmer. Start with the simple night routine which will help. I have made a blog of that please check it out –> Simple Night Routine For Fresh Morning
It helped me start the next day without stress.
📵 Reducing Screen Time at Night (Still Learning 😅)
I didn’t stop completely, but even reducing a little helped me sleep better.
Recently one day I was playing music for my son for half an hour and that day I observed I was able to sleep better. I tried next day the same method and it helped.
Always observe the things which makes you feel stressed, lethargic and which makes you calm and peaceful. Always observe and then change accordingly.
☕ Taking Small Pauses During the Day
Even sitting quietly for a few minutes helped me feel less overwhelmed.
Any time during the day you feel lost in thought, Bring back to the current situation. If your thought is negative try to convert it to a positive thought. Having positive thoughts over period of time will show great results. Observer thoughts modify it. If you need start with affirmations or gratitude, You don’t need to write it in journal just a thought is enough to make difference
❤️ Being Kinder to Myself
This made the biggest difference. I stopped expecting myself to be productive all the time.
You have come a long way. You have seen good and bad and even worst days. So don’t worry on the things which might not even come in future. Be positive, Be gentle and Be happy. Accept the person you have become and improve if you feel you are lacking in any skills but acceptance should always come first.
🚫 Things I Stopped Doing
Sometimes, feeling better is also about what we stop doing.
1. Comparing myself to others
2. Trying to follow perfect routines
3. Feeling guilty for resting
🌼 What I Realized
I used to think I needed more energy. But what I really needed was:
– Less pressure
– More rest
– And a little understanding towards myself
If you’re always feeling tired, you’re not alone. And it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
If you feel related to health issues, Always consult doctor.
Sometimes, it’s not about doing more but It’s about slowing down, even just a little.
And on the days when nothing works then consider the day to Just rest. That is enough ❤️
